WINTER PARK

Visit Winter Park for some winter fun during January and February. 

Join us for Tubing!

Join us for winter tubing!  We will be having fun in any kind of weather.  We have a tubing surface on the hill to allow for tubing in sun, snow, thaw, rain or shine.    If you are looking for tickets, we will be opening up tickets for Wednesdays this week.

Join us for Ice Skating!

We now have a chilled ice rink so skating is consistently available. We also rent skates some for your winter fun!   Skate rentals available.

Every visitor is required to purchase a either General Admission ticket or a Combo Tubing/General Admission ticket to join us at Winter Park (waivers required for everyone).

YOU CAN STILL HELP and be a part of something FUN!

We’re looking for seasonal employees to work Winter Park in January and February. A variety of guest services positions are available, including admissions, concessions, ice skating, or hill operations.  If you would like to only work at Winter Park or throughout the year, please contact Amy Chinn at achinn@bloomfield.org for information.

We are also looking for volunteers to help out and be a part of this exciting event.  Volunteer Sign up information here.

SUMMER CAMP UPDATES

2023 Summer Day Camp at the Farm
June 26 - August 18


Please view the 2023 camp schedule on the Camp Page! Details including camp sessions, descriptions, and prices are included. 

For Farm Members, online registration opens on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 12 noon. At this time, members will have the opportunity to register their child for no more than one camp session. You must become a Farm Member by February 1, 2023 to receive this early registration benefit.

Non-members may begin to register for camp on Wednesday March 1, at 12/noon. At this time, any person (including members) may register for multiple sessions, as available.


** Please note, becoming a farm member does not guarantee that your child will get into camp. The farm will not issue membership refunds to those who do not get into a registered camp session.

SCHOOL PROGRAM

What does the instructional team work on in the winter? Planning and Prepping! Our farm guides are hard at work planning and preparing for our 2023 field trips. We can’t wait to see students back on the farm soon! Registration for Farm Detectives and small groups are open, learn more here.


Farmer Amy and Nicki are creating jean pockets for our 2nd Grade Pocket Full of History Program.


WE ARE LOOKING FOR GUIDES TO JOIN OUR TEAM:

FARM ANIMAL UPDATES

Welcome babies and babies and more babies......


The farm has been busing with the start of birthing season.  Both piglets and kids have been forn the last few weeks.  Five of the Boer goat gave birth to a total of 13 kids.  Our Hampshire crossbred sow had 7 piglets.  And next week?  We expect 11 ewes to be lambing.  Our babies are staying warm in the barn until they are old enough to go outside, so you will have to wait until spring to visit them.

Our satellite Farm Kitchen and Store are at Winter Park to visit while enjoying winter fun!

SEMBA BEE SCHOOL

SEMBA (Southeastern Michigan Beekeepers Association) Bee School Program to begin February 19, 2023 at Bowers School Farm.
 
Cost:  $350 and includes 10 class sessions, one $90 Honey Bee Biology text book and one annual SEMBA membership dues.  Registration open December 1, 2022.
