ANIMAL UPDATES

After a LONG wait - Mia, our female donkey, gave birth to a HEALTHY female foal. Both mom and baby are doing well, and Mia takes her job very seriously. Come see her at Open Barn this weekend Saturday from 9a-3p.

FARM OPERATIONS UPDATES

Things are moving and growing right on schedule at the farm! Come take a wagon ride during Open Barn and see where the pumpkin patch is now (it’s been prepared to be planted the middle of June) - and then come back over the summer to watch them grow!

BIG GRATITUDE to Christian Dorsch from Troop 1022 and his fellow scouts for the work he did toward his Eagle Scout Project.  You’ll notice a freshly repaired and refinished boardwalk around the gazebo. Christian did a site assessment to see which boards needed to be replaced. After that, he did other minor repairs and preparation work to re-seal the boardwalk.  The intent of the project was to preserve the life of the wood for many years to come. Thank you Christian!

PROGRESS SHOWDOWN

SAVE THE DATE - TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

Annual Progress Showdown at Bowers Farm Saturday, June 24th!

The Progress Showdown* is an opportunity for Bowers Farm 4-H and FFA club members to explore the livestock show industry on a much smaller scale and for visitors to learn about these clubs.  Come see a livestock exhibition of beef cattle, hogs, sheep, and goats. A guest judge gives tips, tricks, and pointers. Youth show animals that interest them, learn more about a specific specie(s), and prepare for their project culmination at the Oakland County Fair in July.

The Showdown will be taking place at 9 am-noon. A hog roast luncheon follows with a cash donation.  We hope to see you there!

*Admission to Open Barn is required; free admission for Farm members. Tickets are available at the door.
